Evaluación multidimensional de la empatía: Adaptación del Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) al contexto argentino

Resumen


La empatía se define como la sensibilidad y la comprensión de los estados mentales de los demás, con influencia mutua de componentes emocionales y cognitivos (Fantasía, Toma de perspectiva, Preocupación empática y Angustia personal). El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue analizar las propiedades psicométricas del IRI (Interpersonal Reactivity Index) en el contexto argentino. Para tal fin se trabajó con una muestra de 266 sujetos adultos, con edades entre 19 y 55, de ambos sexos, residentes en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Los resultados principales indicaron la presencia de cuatro dimensiones para la evaluación de la empatía, resultando adecuadas tanto en su consistencia interna (.65 < α < .73), como en su validez de constructo. Además, se observaron relaciones negativas con la orientación a la dominancia social en las dimensiones toma de perspectiva y preocupación empática. Es necesario continuar analizando el fenómeno de la empatía, en particular, las relaciones entre sus diferentes dimensiones y otros constructos relacionados.
