Focus and Scope

The purpose of the journal is to serve the dissemination of research that can improve knowledge and understanding of management and economics of sport, from a multidisciplinary approach that combines theoretical and applied approaches.

The "Journal of Sports Economics & Management" is a journal that accepts manuscripts in Spanish and English, published quarterly, admitting works both basic and applied research, pertaining to any field of management and economics of sport prior to publication are blind reviewed by our reviewers.

The "Journal of Sports Economics & Management" contains: (a) empirical articles, (b) bibliometric or Revision articles (c) theoretical articles that provide a frame of reference in the field, (e) Book Reviews (f ) Announcements in scientific meetings, conferences and seminars.

The journal aims to promote the advancement of sport management and economics through the exchange of information between researchers and practitioners by providing a forum for discussion and debate from a dual perspective combining theoretical approaches and applied research.

The journal is open access which means that all content is available to any user or institution without charge.

Peer Review Process

Between 2 and 4 months to get the answer

1. Receiving via the web platform or by mail to jsem.editor@gmail.com. If you choose emailing means that you accept all prerequisites outlined in the process via web.

2. The manuscript is examined first by the Editor and the editorial board, which verify formal aspects and scope. Within a maximum period of two weeks the decision to send or not the manuscript to two reviewers will be communicated.


3. If the contributions is accepted for review, the manuscript will be sent to qualified experts in the subject, who have 3 weeks to review the article.

4. Then the reviewers submit their opinions to the editor, who will notify authors evaluators comments with a letter from the Editor in which they are informed of the decision. 2 weeks

5. If modifications are required the authors have one month to do the changes.

6. Last version: If the manuscript is accepted, the author must send an electronic file with the final version as well as meet the formal requirements of the Editor.

Publication Frequency

JSEM has evolved in the periodicity of publication. Initially, it published one volume and issue per year. Subsequently, it was published every four months (three issues per year) until December 31, 2020. Since January 1, 2021, this journal has a continuous publication model, with one volume per year, and accepted articles are published in the current volume throughout the year.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Its mainly: citation indexing, analysis, and maintains citation databases covering thousands of academic journals, books, proceedings and any approved documents SIS maintains academic database services to researchers, journal editors and publishers.

ACADEMIC ROSOURCE INDEX. is plattform that host scientific journals in order to give visibility and contribute to their social impact.

SCIENTIFIC WORLD INDEX. Scientific world index is a worldwide directory that indexes and provides access to different journals in all field of sciences which covers all languages. Scientific world index plans to increase the visibility of scholarly journals.

GLOBAL IMPACT FACTOR. Provides quantitative and qualitative tool for ranking, evaluating and categorizing the journals for academic evaluation and excellence. This factor is used for evaluating the prestige of journals. GIF(2014) = 0.654

COSMOS. It is a foundation that collects hundreds of scientific journals and evaluates them to establish a ranking.

ARASTIRMAX. Arastirmax is an online database with blibliometric indicators. Scientist publication index.

PBN. Polish Scholarly Bibliography collects information on the output of scientists and research institutions. Both research units and individual users can use it to create their respective bibliographies.

OPEN ACADEMIC JOURNALS INDEX. OAJI is a full-text database of open-access scientific journals. Founded by the International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research, USA.

ACADEMIC-KEYS. Portal of resources in higher education that hosts resources and academic journals, activities and employment at the university.

REBIUN is a stable organization in which are represented all the Spanish university and scientific libraries. It consists of the libraries of the 75 member universities of the CRUE (50 public university and 25 private university) and the CSIC. It contains catalog with access to content libraries.
